Throughout our community, local organisations are opening their doors to offer free, warm Welcome Places this winter.
If you’re looking for somewhere to go this winter for some warmth and company, there are plenty of options in our area! As part of Voluntary Action Sheffield’s hub of welcome places, local organisations and faith groups are working together to offer warm spaces and friendly faces across Darnall, Attercliffe, Tinsley and Handsworth.
As an anchor organisation, Darnall Well Being is now one of the organisations coordinating Welcome Places in Sheffield. We are supporting Welcome Places in Darnall, Tinsley, Handsworth and Attercliffe. If you are involved with the local community, running a session in one of these areas and you want to find out more about supporting people to get through the cost of living crisis or are interested in registering as a Welcome Place , please get in touch with our coordinators.
For contact details for each local venue, as well as more details about what’s available at each place, have a look at the posters below:
Not sure what to expect at a Welcome Place?
All offer a warm, indoor space and a free hot drink. There will always be someone to talk to, if you wish, or you can just come along to enjoy a book or simply sit in peace. Many Welcome Places also offer free internet access and can help you to learn about getting access to devices if you are in need. You can see all the Welcome Places in Sheffield here:
